A basic voltage check is not the same as registering a battery. Product pages that list BMS or battery registration describe using the tool after a battery change to rematch the monitoring module and clear low-battery fault information. Typical cases include:
- Battery replacement. The vehicle needs to know the new battery capacity and type.
- Battery warning still on. After a change, the light or message stays until the module is reset.
- Charging behaviour. Some vehicles limit charging until the BMS knows the new battery.
Availability always depends on the make, model and year. Check your vehicle list before you buy.
